The Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals

These are the goals pimped into short Tweet-versions and only140 characters. Made for you and everybody else who most likely never will read the full versions.

Thats the thing, who reads all of that stuff? 17 goals, 69 sub-goals, 15.000 words and 100.000 characters? Well, I did back in 2015 and I was blown away by the bold ambitions. I then re-wrote them into short versions and shared them here and there in an ambition to get more people to learn about them. And then put pressure on their politicians: –We know what you signed, folks!

– SMALL (140 characters)
– MEDIUM (500 characters)
– LARGE (1000 characters)

But I also felt that the UN had missed one crucial point: The call to action. Each goal was described with the very best of intentions – but without the verbs. No call. No action. Here are two examples:

Goal No 1: No poverty
Goal No 1: End poverty everywhere

Goal No 4: Quality education
Goal No 4: Fix education for all

Anyway, film photographer Jana Julian and I then traveled to four continents and asked people if they have ever heard of the "The United Nations Agenda 2030" and the SDGs, and we set up beach parties to talk about these new bold visions and goals under the concept "The Beach Party Agenda". Embracing the sun, wind, and water...a crazy idea:-)
